Coding NZ aims to provide high level education to students in the field of computer science. To enable us to give your child/ward the best possible service we require parents/guardians to accept the following terms and conditions:

1. Behaviour

I accept that Coding NZ facilitators are supplied to help students overcome knowledge gaps and answer questions. I accept that the facilitators are provided as teachers/tutors and not as behavioural discipliners. I accept that should my child/ward's behaviour be deemed unacceptable by a facilitator I may be informed and my child/ward may be immediately removed from the current and all future Coding NZ lessons at the discretion of a facilitator.

2. Time Responsibility

I accept that Coding NZ is not responsible for my child/ward outside of the allotted lesson time. I accept that it is my responsibility to arrange for the pickup of my child/ward at the end of the lesson and to arrange for their initial reaching of the lesson location at the beginning of the lesson. I accept that Coding NZ will not be considering who picks up and drops off my child/ward as they are not responsible for them outside the allotted lesson time. I accept that it is my responsibility to inform my child/ward of "stranger danger" and not that of Coding NZ. I accept that Coding NZ is not a childcare service and will not take responsibility for any children not signed up to their lesson and may ask these unenrolled children to leave the location if they are distracting lesson students.

3. Treats

I accept that facilitators may hand out wrapped treats to my child/ward. I accept that I am responsible for informing Coding NZ of any allergies or food intolerances my child/ward may have (an easy way to do this is via the text box for it on the sign-up form).

4. Parental Involvement

I accept that in order to ensure the safety of all students Coding NZ does not allow adults, including myself, to sit in on lessons. Coding NZ will notify me via email newsletter of the parents and guardians lesson assigned for the term where I will be able to be in the lesson alongside my child/ward.

5. Photography, Videography & Quotations

I accept that Coding NZ may take photos or videos or quotations of my child/ward. If these are to be released to the public in any way (e.g. marketing) I will first be consulted, and if I do not provide approval for the use of the content it will be permanently deleted from Coding NZ's records.

6. Non-refundable Course Fees

I accept that the course fees for a term reserve my child/ward's spot in lessons for the whole term and makes that spot unavailable to other students. I accept that as Coding NZ will still be supplying the tutor and resources for all lessons in the term, I will not be refunded for any missed lessons during a term or for non-completion of a term. (See numbers 11 to 13 for related additional clauses.)

7. Health & Safety

I accept that Coding NZ endeavours at all times to provide a safe and secure environment for lessons. Neither Coding NZ nor the shareholders, directors, contractors, employees or franchisees of Coding NZ will accept personal liability for any act of omission arising from any activity of any lesson.

8. Programme Changes

I accept that Coding NZ reserves the right to change any of the lesson activities or curriculum at any time.

9. Bathroom Breaks

According to "15. Parental Repsonsibility" I accept that I am responsible for informing my child/ward that they are to use the bathroom before lessons start. I accept that if my child/ward needs to use the bathroom during lesson times that they will be sent there alone if the course is between 9am and 4pm at a school location. I accept that they will be sent to the bathroom with another student if the lesson is held outside of the location or times aforementioned. I accept that the facilitator is not responsible for the well-being of students who have left the lesson room to use the bathroom or another facility. I understand that if my child/ward does not return to the lesson within 15 minutes that I will be contacted via text message and that the facilitator will attempt to locate my child/ward to the extent that they can without leaving the main group of students unsupervised. I accept that I will receive a phone call informing me of my child/ward's missing status at the end of the lesson.

10. Damage of Property

I accept that if my child/ward damages any property belonging to Coding NZ that I may be charged for the cost of replacing the property.

11. Medical

I accept that if the facilitator deems it necessary they may arrange for urgent medical attention for my child/ward, the cost of which I take the responsibility to meet.

12. Privacy Act 1993

I accept that information of my child/ward may be held by Coding NZ and will not be made available to third parties and will only be accessible to authorized staff members. I accept that at any time, I may request to see my child/ward's information.

13. Absences

I accept that Coding NZ might inform me via text message during lessons if my child/ward does not attend a lesson for which they were signed up.

14. Ill Students

I accept that my child/ward will be excluded from lessons if they are ill in order to safeguard the health of all students attending.

15. Missed Lessons

I accept that I might be notified via text message or email if a lesson is to be missed because Coding NZ is unable to run it. I accept that I will be refunded the fee paid for that lesson to the same account that the term fees were paid from.

16. Contact Details

I accept that I am responsible for advising Coding NZ of any changes in my contact details or those of my alternative contact person.

17. Parental Responsibility

I accept that I am responsible to ensure that my child/ward knows when and where they are to attend the Coding NZ lessons. I accept that I am responsible for informing my child that they are expected to be well behaved in lessons, and that they are expected to drink water, have a snack and go to the bathroom before lessons commence. I accept that I am responsible for ensuring my child has access to a snack and water before lessons start.

18. Promotional Material

I accept that Coding NZ may contact me from time to time with materials related to Coding NZ or computer science (including but not limited to end of term newsletters, blog posts and promotional emails.)

19. Disputes Resolution

I accept that if I have a dispute with Coding NZ or one of their shareholders, directors, contractors, employees or franchisees that I will contact the person in question to resolve the issue in good faith first. If the issue is not resolved to my satisfaction I will then contact the Coding NZ head office and attempt to resolve the issue in good faith with them. If the issue remains unresolved I will attend mediation with Coding NZ to resolve the issue.

20. Enrolment Guarantee

I accept that completing this enrolment form, with or without payment, and receiving any subsequent contact from Coding NZ does not guarantee my child/ward a spot in the Coding NZ lessons. I accept that Coding NZ may deny my child/ward attendance at their discretion with or without disclosing reasons and that I will be refunded in full for any fees paid to Coding NZ for lessons which Coding NZ refuses admittance to my child/ward.

21. Binding Agreement

I accept that these terms and conditions are a binding agreement between Coding NZ and myself. By enrolling my child/ward I certify that I have read and understood the information provided and hereby agree to the Terms and Conditions detailed above.
